Funding for 2011 Canada Winter Games

The provincial, federal and municipal government today (March 28th) announced funding to support the 2011 Canada Winter Games.

The provincial and federal governments will each contribute over 11-million dollars in support of the games. Halifax Regional Municipality will contribute almost nine-million dollars.

A field house will be built on the Mainland Common as part of the games facilities. Since being announced as the host city of the 2011 Canada Winter Games on February 2, 2007, HRM has not revealed any details to the public what type of facility will be built.
