Swim Nova Scotia urges HRM to wait to see what happens with the city’s 2014 Commonwealth Games bid

The Executive Director of Swim Nova Scotia, Bette El-Hawary, is keen to give her feedback on the new blueprints for HRM's updated plans for the Mainland Common Recreation Centre during focus group sessions being held by the HRM and YMCA. Ms. El-Hawary would prefer that the municipality wait to see what happens with the city's 2014 Commonwealth Games bid before deciding how the recreation centre should be built.

An article published in the Chronicle Herald today contains information on the public sessions along with quotes from Ms. El-Hawary, Coun. Russell Walker, Project Manager Margaret Soley and YMCA CEO Bette Watson Borg.

The Build it Right group continues to urge citizens to urge residents of the region to make their feelings heard by participating in one of the remaining focus groups.

Focus group times and other information can be found on the following attachments:.
